Opening Night with Carlos, Brahms, & Beethoven

Carlos Izcaray, conductor
Wendy Warner, cello

October 6 & 7, 2017 at 8pm

Alys Stephens Center | Jemison Concert Hall | Map & Directions

BEETHOVEN: Leonore Overture No. 3
HAYDN: Cello Concerto in D
BRAHMS: Symphony No. 1

The season opens with a celebration. The talented Wendy Warner applies her “youthful, surging” playing to a charming Haydn cello concerto. The orchestra performs Brahms’ monumental first symphony, which is both triumphant and serene.
