Clayton Vaughn Cello

Clayton Vaughn is a member of the Alabama Symphony and the Des Moines Metro Opera. He also performs regularly as a member of the Walden Chamber Music Society, and has attended many renowned music festivals including Tanglewood, the National Repertory Orchestra, Music Academy of the West, and Meadowmount. Past orchestral positions include principal cellist of the Boulder Chamber Orchestra, section cello of the Omaha, Fort Collins, and Greeley symphony orchestras, and substitute with the Colorado Symphony and Colorado Ballet. In years past, he has also been a member of the Meridian, Tupelo, and Firelands symphony orchestras.

In addition to performing, Clayton is also a dedicated teacher who's past teaching positions include cello faculty at the Parlando School for The Arts, Teaching Assistant at the University of Colorado for Judith Glyde, as well as the Music Director of the Boulder Cello Project.

Mr. Vaughn received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Louisville with Paul York and went on to earn a Masters from the Cleveland Institute of Music studying with Dr. Melissa Kraut and Stephen Geber. He completed his Doctorate of Musical Arts at the University of Colorado, and studied with Judith Glyde and András Fejér of the Takács Quartet.
