Justin Brown begins his tenure as Music Director Laureate of the ASO with this special performance of Henry Purcell's Dido and Aeneas. This Baroque masterpiece retells the tragic romance between the Trojan hero and the Queen of Carthage. It has long been considered among the most perfect operas in the English language. Vocal soloists and Birmingham's lauded Sursum Corda choir guest star.
