Ludwig van Beethoven: Piano Concerto #4 in G Major
Anton Bruckner: Symphony #6 in A Major
Virtuoso pianist Conrad Tao has been dubbed “the kind of musician who is shaping the future of classical music” by New York Magazine, and an artist of “probing intellect and open-hearted vision” by The New York Times. Join us as he performs Beethoven’s beautiful and almost improvisational Piano Concerto No. 4, G Major. The sublime work allows the listener to enter a “magical and quietly intimate world of shimmering colors.” After Intermission, enjoy a performance of Bruckner’s dynamic, yet less often performed, Symphony No. 6. Notice the composer’s expansive and layered orchestration featuring powerful brass, lush and resonant strings, soaring melodies, and a monumental conclusion.
