Amy E. Johnson - Amy is honored to share this evening with each of you, as it has been a longtime dream to perform alongside Chris and the incredible musicians of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra.
Amy began performing as a child in the Birmingham area and followed that love to receive a BA in Theatre from the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Alabama.
An Alabama native, Amy lives in Birmingham, sings as a staff singer at Trinity United Methodist Church in Homewood, and performs locally throughout the theatre community. Some recent roles you may have seen Amy in include Lucy Grant in “Bright Star,” Marie in “Cinderella,” Amy in “Company,” Judy in “9 to 5,” The Bakers Wife in “Into the Woods,” Ursula in “The Little Mermaid,” and as Penny Pennywise in “Urinetown” at her beloved Alma mater, among others. Amy also looks forward to her role as the Narrator in Red Mountain Theatre’s upcoming production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
In addition to performing, Amy serves as the Senior Manager of Social Media at a Georgia-based bank and oversees content strategy and social implementation for the brand.
When she’s not singing for her supper or creating social content, Amy does voiceover work and enjoys travel, hiking, and cooking with her partner, Morgan, and their sheepadoodle, Gemma.
Amy would like to thank Chris for the opportunity, the talented musicians for their hard work, and the supporters of the ASO for keeping art alive in Birmingham. She also sends love to her family, dear friends, and to her beloved MP. Love always, in all ways.
