Rene Reder

Viola

Violist Rene Reder joined the Alabama Symphony Orchestra in 2004. She was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington, where she attended the University of Puget Sound, earning her Bachelor's Degree in music. She then studied at Temple University in Philadelphia, receiving her Master of Music Degree and Performance Diploma.

Music has taken her to a handful of beautiful and interesting places including Florida, New Hampshire, Colorado, Idaho, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Puerto Rico, Europe, Israel and Argentina. In 2001, after three years in the New World Symphony, Rene won a position with the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra, which unfortunately folded two years later. In June of 2004, she completed a one year position with the Virginia Symphony in Norfolk, VA. If you hear a scream during a John Williams Jaws theme with the ASO, there's a good chance it was her.
