ASO Up Close
Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 7pm, UAB's Alys Stephens Center
Lisa Wienhold, principal flute of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, explains what it’s like to sit in the orchestra by saying, “unless you sit in the middle of that sonic landscape, it can’t be described.” Now, the ASO invites you to experience the orchestra from the stage through ASO Up Close.
Your ASO Up Close experience includes:
- A tour of the back-stage area including the green room and the ASO music library.
- Pairing with a musician to see how they prepare for a concert.
- Stand Partners will sit on the stage, next to a musician, during rehearsal.
- Reception and photo opportunity with the musicians.
- LIMITED STAND PARTNER seats are available.
Please remember:
- Participants will be observing, not playing music in this event.
- Participants can request the orchestra section they want to observe.
- Previous donations to the ASO cannot be applied to this special event.
- This event is scheduled as an ASO regular service rehearsal and requires only casual attire.
- The rehearsal begins at 7pm and will last 1.5 hours.
