The Birmingham Zoo and the Alabama Symphony Orchestra will host Symphony Goes Wild! Two of Birmingham's oldest and most beloved institutions are teaming up to present a one-of-a-kind family event that blends the magic of live symphonic music and the enjoyment of the animal kingdom!
Don't miss this special event after hours at the Zoo – featuring activities to engage with animals and instruments – as the Orchestra brings to life beloved, animal-inspired music with a concert for families under the stars. This immersive experience is a new, enchanting way to explore the power of music in the heart of your Zoo!
At 5pm doors open and pre-concert activities begin. All tickets will include:
-After-hours access to ambassador animals
-The Reptile Exhibit
-The Alabama Wilds barn
-Face Painting
-Instrument Petting Zoo
At 6:30pm, the Orchestra will perform a concert for families outdoors & under the stars,
bringing to life beloved, animal-inspired music.
Food and beverage service will be available throughout the entire event, allowing guests to grab a bite to eat, bring blankets, and enjoy an evening of music on the lawn. (VIP tickets include additional benefits and preferred seating options.)
There are 3 types of tickets. All tickets include pre-concert activities.

VIP GOLD | $200
VIP Gold includes a pre-concert reception with an open bar and hors d’oeuvres on the balcony and terraces overlooking the Zoo. ASO Music Director Carlos Izcaray and ASO musicians will meet and mingle with guests. As the sun sets and the concert begins, VIP Gold guests will have reserved seats along the upper balcony overlooking Henley Lawn and the concert stage. Immediately following the performance, the ASO Associate Conductor Daniel Cho will visit VIP Gold guests in the reception area for a post-concert Q&A.


VIP Silver | $125
VIP Silver includes a pre-concert reception with an open bar and hors d’oeuvres on the balcony and terraces overlooking the Zoo. ASO Music Director Carlos Izcaray and ASO musicians will meet and mingle with guests at the reception. As the sun sets, VIP Silver guests will be taken to reserved seating along the rock wall on the main plaza overlooking Henley Lawn and the concert stage.


General Admission – Bring a Blanket!
Adults, $20; Children 2-18, $15; Under 2, free

Food and beverage service will be available throughout the entire event, allowing guests to grab a bite to eat, bring blankets, and enjoy an evening of music on the lawn.

After purchasing general admission tickets, you will also have the option to preorder grab-and-go meals from Nourish 205 at the Zoo. These can be picked up upon arrival at the event.
