Symphony 30 is a volunteer organization made up of women in the community who fundraise for ASO’s education programs and community outreach. The organization’s main event is Symphony in the Gardens, our annual community concert and picnic at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, which remains free for the public through Symphony 30’s fundraising efforts.

Symphony in the Gardens is a beloved Birmingham tradition and serves as the first community concert of our season each year. Picnics and wine and beer passes are available for pre-order before the event and will be ready to pick up and enjoy when guests arrive. Families can enjoy kids’ activities like face painting and our instrument petting zoo, along with a selection of music that the whole family is guaranteed to love.

All Symphony in the Gardens sponsorships, donations, and picnic proceeds benefit ASO programs that bring orchestral music into classrooms, hospitals, and public community spaces. Symphony 30 is especially passionate about ASO’s education programs that serve more than 50,000 students across Alabama each year.

On Sunday, September 28, 2025, Symphony 30 will host the 28th Annual Symphony in the Gardens at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, with picnic pick-up at 4 pm and the hour-long concert at 5 pm. The Orchestra will perform a selection of music that the whole family is guaranteed to love. We hope you can join us!
