Kelsey Williams
Second Horn
Kelsey Williams serves as second horn with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra. Before moving to Alabama, she held the position of Acting Fourth Horn with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra for two years. Kelsey has performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, ProMusica Chamber Orchestra of Columbus, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, The Richmond Symphony, Grant Park Music Festival, and Omaha Symphony.
Miss Williams received her undergraduate degree in Music Education from SUNY Fredonia, where she studied with Dr. Marc Guy, and her Master’s in Horn Performance from Northwestern University, where she studied with Gail Williams and Jon Boen. While working on her master’s, Kelsey joined the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. During her eight years in the Midwest, Kelsey enjoyed teaching horn students as a private lesson teacher, in her role as Horn Instructor at the Merit School of Music in Chicago, as well as her position as Associate Lecturer of Horn at the University of Wisconsin–Parkside.
Kelsey loves to take Basil, her Bernedoodle, for walks outside. She is always looking for an excuse to go hiking or backpacking in the mountains. Williams considers herself a foodie and welcomes all suggestions for different food scenes to explore in Birmingham.
