Opening Night – formerly the Maestro’s Ball – is the ASO’s largest annual fundraiser. This event marks the beginning of the symphony season as we celebrate the Orchestra, its musicians, and its supporters.

Cocktail Attire
Step into Los Angeles and the technicolor magic of the movies for a Hollywood-themed party and a concert filled with film favorites brought to life by the Alabama Symphony Orchestra and our Resident Conductor and Principal POPS! Conductor Chris Confessore.
The Evening:
To kick off the event, enjoy a cocktail party with a menu of hors d’oeuvres designed by Chef Frank Stitt and Pardis Stitt. Then, hear an exclusive, one-night-only concert by the Orchestra, full of familiar favorites from both classic and contemporary films. End the night at the afterparty with dancing, a live band, and pub fare.
The Impact:
When you donate or get tickets to Opening Night, you’re not just supporting the event; you’re supporting the Orchestra and our upcoming season. Your gift or ticket will help us create and execute the concerts, music education programs, and community outreach that Alabama depends on. The event itself costs only a small fraction of the money we make so that your dollars support what matters most: the music and mission.
