After Dark: A Symphony of Shivers is a night of cinematic masterworks that live in the shadowy corners of your memory. From the wizarding world of Harry Potter to the wickedly dramatic score of Wicked, from Bernard Herrmann's nerve-shredding Psycho to some of the most spine-tingling music ever written, conductor Chris Confessore leads the ASO through an evening designed to mesmerize, unsettle, and absolutely electrify.

Sleigh Bell & Symphony: A Holiday Classic | December 1, 2026 at 7pm
UAB's Alys Stephens Center

Conductor Chris Confessore leads the ASO through an irresistible program that spans generations — from Tchaikovsky's beloved Nutcracker and the cinematic magic of The Polar Express to the warmth of White Christmas, the joy of Jingle Bells Fantasy, and a Muppet Christmas Carol Overture that will delight absolutely everyone in the room. Close out the night singing along to A Christmas Carol and Anderson's timeless Sleigh Ride.

This December, Act of Congress and the Alabama Symphony Orchestra return to the stage together for something Alabama has been waiting for: acoustic warmth amplified by orchestral grandeur. Parrots & Palms: Tropical Rock | May 14, 2027 at 7pm

Time to celebrate the vibe, the breeze, and the legendary tropical songs of Jimmy Buffett, Bob Marley, Van Morrison, The Beach Boys and more. Sing along to “Come Monday,” “Fins,”“Under the Boardwalk,” “Kokomo,” “Don’t Worry, Be Happy,” “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere,” “Brown-Eyed Girl” and so many more as you come along for a symphonic evening of musical magic that raises a glass to the power of the surf and the romance of the islands.
