Explorer Concert: The Symphony Is All Around You (Grade PK - 2nd Grade)

This fun-filled concert is an excellent introduction to the wonderful sound of a live, professional symphony orchestra in concert. Take a journey with your Alabama Symphony Orchestra to discover how the symphony is part of our everyday lives, with music by Beethoven, Mozart, and Tchaikovsky, as well as selections from Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, and Star Wars!

Young People's Concert: Make Our Garden Grow — The World of Music (Grades 3 - 6)

Join the Alabama Symphony Orchestra for an exciting and educational concert experience! Inspired by the beauty and balance of the natural world, Make Our Garden Grow — The World of Music invites students on an imaginative journey where music and Earth science come to life side by side. As they explore how melody, harmony, and rhythm work together, just like sunshine, water, and soil sustain thriving ecosystems, they will begin to understand the essential building blocks that shape both music and the world around them. Along the way, students will discover the instruments of the orchestra, the traditions of Western classical music, and the powerful stories music can tell, with selections by Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Bernstein, as well as familiar favorites from film. Through curiosity, creativity, and connection, they will experience how music grows, evolves, and flourishes—just like the ecosystems that inspire it.

Young People's Concert: The Trumpet of the Swan (Grades 3 - 6)
March 2-5, 2027 at 10am and March 6, 2027 at 11am
Birmingham Children's Theatre
Based on the beloved book by E. B. White, this charming coming-of-age adventure follows Louis, a voiceless swan with a big heart and an even bigger determination to find his place in the world. From growing up and making friends to falling in love and starting a family, Louis takes flight through life’s milestones while discovering his unique talents along the way. With creativity, courage, and a little help from the human world, he turns what once set him apart into his greatest strength—earning his place among the swans at last.

Coffee Concerts (Middle and High School)
Middle and High School students can enjoy a mini version of our Masterworks Concerts at the 11 am Coffee Concerts on select Fridays throughout the season. Groups of 10+ can register at a rate of $10 per ticket. Groups of less than 10 can purchase tickets directly through the box office.
